**ROLE: Senior Housing Development Paralegal**

**SALARY: £30,000**

**LOCATION: Reading**

**ROLE DESCRIPTION**

This is a great opportunity to join our hard working, but friendly Development and House Building Team based in Reading.

As a Paralegal you will be required to support fee earners on transactional matters. This will involve working with existing team members and clients in respect of the acquisition and disposals of development land, plot sales, planning and construction mattersas well as secured acquisition and development finance.

As part of this role, you will be required to attend to our offices based in Reading at least twice a week.

**EXPERIENCE/ ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED**
- Some experience in development transactions is preferred but we will also look favourably on good quality residential and/or commercial conveyancing and/or plot sales experience.
- Be inquisitive and enthusiastic to learn.
- Do not be afraid to ask questions and give your opinion.
- Have a strong work ethic - "you only get out what you put in".
- Think practically and commercially.
- Have an organised working method and an ability to break down complex problems into bite size tasks.
- Have strong drafting skills, verbal & written communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to complete marketing and business development activities is essential.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to develop strong relationships with clients and others in the sector.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

**WORK TYPE**:

- Drafting option agreements, deeds, and contracts
- Undertaking due diligence and reporting
- Assisting the team with a wide range of other activities associated with development transactions.
- Identifying concerns and risk and identifying practical and commercial solutions
- Communicating with the team, clients and third parties in involved with transactions.
- Learning about the planning system and how this impacts development transactions.
- Participating in business development activities and getting to know our clients and others in the development community.
