**Position Overview**

We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join our team based from our Blythe Valley office in Solihull. This is a role working within the Financial Shared Services Centre undertaking the general ledger accounting for several legal entities withinthe EMEA region.

**A day in the life typically includes**
- Bank Reconciliations
- Prepayment accounting
- Supporting intercompany processing and reconciliations for the team
- To ensure the integrity of the balance sheet.
- Month end reporting to the corporate accounting team in accordance with the published timetable
- Complete analytical reviews of allocated entities and document /validate variances
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, and assistance with review where required.
- Assist statutory accountant/auditors in completing annual filings including responsibility for any ledger queries.
- Cross support other team members and other EMEA teams to ensure overall achievement of deadlines
- Work with other finance/non finance personnel to ensure accuracy of accruals and reserves for allocated entities.
- Assist with ad hoc projects within the team and other GL EMEA teams as required

**Knowledge and Skills, You Bring to the Organization**
- Good knowledge of excel
- A positive attitude to challenges
- Being adaptable to change, sometimes at short notice.
- Ability to interact with a range of colleagues up to and including senior management level
- Knowledge of European foreign language highly desirable
- The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- 1 years previous financial accounting experience preferable, ideally within an SSC accounting environment
- The ability to work under pressure
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Good Interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to hit deadlines
- Around quarter and financial year end, extended working hours are likely to be required for which time off in lieu may be provided.
