This service is provided to approximately 20 external wards and departments within the surrounding area of Plymouth. The external Theatres & Materials Management team are responsible for the ordering and stowing of a wide range of medical and other consumable items, ensuring nursing staff always have the correct product they require for treating patients close at hand. The small and closely-knit team handles a total of fourteen thousand separate lines over all locations and is responsible for an annual turnover exceeding £5.5m. All transactions and expenditure is processed through the Trusts inventory system Genesis.

Will require Full driving Licence (3.5t Van) as an essential.

To provide an ordering and stowing service for medical and other consumables stock items used within The REI Theatres & Storeroom external to Derriford Hospital.

To replenish, receipt, issue and stow stock using Genesis system.

Pick and deliver by road goods for patient care, as per agreed schedule to meet service line demands.

To provide administrative and clerical support to the Theatres Management Supervisor and Senior Supply Chain Supervisor, ensuring agreed service levels are maintained and delivered

Work to the Trust values - Put patients first, Take ownership, Respect others, Be positive

Adhere to trust policies and procedures, e.g. Health and safety at Work, Equal opportunities

Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff development and training

Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS at Risk staff throughout Devon who is able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification

Liaise with Suppliers, Wards & Departments to make sure goods ordered are the best value and price and codes. Liaise with suppliers regarding returns.

To ensure all goods received into warehouse, are received and receipted in Trust Finance & Account system - Oracle.

Liaise with supplier representatives and procurement department, to ensure correct, current and accurate information held.

Responsible for ensuring stock levels are correct once all issues have been completed.

Chase outstanding orders.
