Primary Learning Support Assistant

Join our team at The Supply Room as a Learning Support Assistant in Bristol and make a difference in the lives of students. We are a leading education recruitment agency that works with Primary schools, Secondary schools, and SEN schools, providing support to students of all ages and abilities. We are currently seeking talented individuals who are passionate about education and have a desire to help students reach their full potential.
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the classroom, working closely with teachers and other professionals to provide one-to-one or small group support to students. Your primary responsibility will be to assist students with additional learning needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
To be successful in this role, you will need a range of soft skills and qualifications. These include:
- Excellent communication skills: You must be able to effectively communicate with students, teachers, and parents to ensure that everyone is on the same page and working towards the same goals.
- Patience and empathy: Working with students who may have additional needs requires patience and empathy to support their individual learning styles and build their confidence.
- Adaptability: Each student is unique, and their learning needs may change from day to day. You must be able to adapt your approach and strategies accordingly to ensure their success.
- Strong organizational skills: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and supporting students with their daily tasks. Strong organizational skills are essential to keep everything running smoothly.
- Previous childcare experience: A minimum requirement for this role is previous childcare experience, either professional or personal. We value individuals who have a genuine love for working with children and helping them succeed.
