**My client a manufacturing site in Bridgwater is looking for a Environmental/Health and Safety Advisor for a FIXED TERM CONTRACT - 12 - 18 Months**

**£30-£45k DOE / Qualifications**

30 - 37.5 hours (up for negotiation) Monday to Friday

To fit with the needs of the role) hours between 8 am
- 17.30pm

5.6 weeks (28 days including Bank Holidays) - additional bhol 2023

**Principle duties required of the role**:
Update and create risk assessments for all areas of the organisation within the UK (includes some travel to Manchester site)

Update and create COSHH assessments for all areas of the organisation within the UK (includes some travel to site up North)

Create Safe Working Practises assessments for all areas of the organisation within the UK (includes travel to clients Site up north )

Strategically review all Environmental and Health and Safety regulations and create appropriate EHS finding and recommendation reports.

Prepare and enforce through training and guidance policies and procedures to establish a culture of health and safety.

Work closely with the Regulatory Affairs Officer to ensure document compliance with all applicable ISO standards and UK regulations.

Ensure adequate controls of the health and safety risks arising from work activities are in place.

Ensure through the safe handling (SWP assessments above) are clearly understood for all aspects of use of chemicals and substances.

Accountable for incident handling (be it accidents, near misses, etc) and reporting any EHS issues/incidents within the designated time frames.

Ensure product label compliance for both COSHH and Export of goods in UK and abroad.

Manage hazardous waste disposal activities to ensure compliance within the UK regulations.

**Essential Skills**:
**ISOH QUALIFIED**

Experienced and able to comply with working within ISO: 9001, ISO: 14001, ISO: 50001

Used to and familiar with working as part of a senior management team and able to involve all stakeholders.

Used to working in manufacturing production environment.

Continuous and existing Health and Safety Qualifications and personal professional development.

Experienced in creating and implementing Environmental, Health and Safety Policies, procedures, SWP's, Risk Assessments

Strong team building, decision making and people management skills within an organisation going through change management processes.

Proficiency with verbal and written communication.

Problem Solving.

Flexible and able to change work duties due to the business needs in some cases at short notice.

Strong Microsoft office skills with a focus on Excel.

Able to Chair Health and Safety meetings - currently quarterly

**Personal attributes**:
Ability to work effectively with team members who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines and communication styles.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, both written and oral communication.

Ability to handle a multitude of different situations; sometimes simultaneously and effectively prioritise workload.

Humble and willing to seek knowledge without hesitation.

**Desirable**:
Previous experience in Chemical industry.

Trainer experience for delivery of workshops and Health and Safety awareness programs both one on one and in group sessions.
