Under new ownership, The Club is just over 2 years into an ambitious plan to return Stockport County to the Championship within 7 years. The exciting new chapter is well underway with the Club currently aiming for back-to-back promotions following significantinvestment on the pitch. Further investment has been made in the Clubs football infrastructure in the form of a dedicated new training facility. Investment off the pitch has seen improvements in retail and hospitality facilities that has improved both thematchday & non-matchday experience.
What you will do in the role of HR Officer?
This generalist role will be an integral part of the club responsible for ensuring the delivery of a high-quality HR service. Based at Edgeley Park, and working alongside the finance, operations and commercial teams, this is currently a standalone HR role atthe club, reporting into the FD but with support from the Group Head of HR.
Responsibilities & Duties:

- Management of the HR inbox, acting as first point of contact for and providing a timely response to all general HR queries; escalating to line manager/ Group HR when required
- All HR administration tasks, including DBS checks, issuing of offer letters, employment contracts, documentation of contractual & internal changes, eg, flexible working, change of hours, line management, salary reviews and probations etc
- Recruitment and selection - supporting from offer through to placement
- Managing the onboarding process for new starters & offboarding of leavers
- Updating the HR and rota systems and producing reports, ensuring accuracy of information and compliance with all relevant legislation
- Monitoring of sickness and absence recording, running of reports, spotting trends
- Process owner for payroll, working alongside the finance team - lead monthly payroll call with department heads, generate reports to provide to external payroll provider
- Overseeing HR/ recruitment events and meetings and coordinating management-employee communications
- Low risk ER case management - Running/ assisting with grievance, capability and disciplinary procedures as required
- Working cooperatively with the Group Head of HR, escalating queries as and when required
- Coaching Managers in relation to all areas of HR policy and process
- Building stakeholder relationships
- Ensure all company HR policies and procedures are up to date in line with current employment law and best practice, and any changes are communicated effectively to line managers and the team
- Writing and submitting reports on general HR activities
- Additional tasks as required to support the growth of the business
What is required in the role of HR Officer?
- Experience in a relevant / similar HR officer or HR Advisor or HR Manager role
- Passion for people and business
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Proactive and pragmatic approach, competent working independently to get things done
- Strong team-player
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or qualified by experience
