Dawlish, United Kingdom Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust Full time

An opportunity has arisen within the Lower Limb Therapy Service (LLTS) team for a band 4 Nursing Associate (37.5hrs per week) on a permanent contract. We are looking for a well-motivated and enthusiastic individual, preferably with experience of tissue viability and leg ulcer management, but this is not essential as full and comprehensive training will be given. We do ask that you have a passion for treating patients with lower limb ulceration, and dedication to delivering gold standard treatments to support healing.
- Under delegation of a Registered Nurse or Podiatrist, provide evidence-based specialist leg ulcer assessments and treatments, delivering high quality care, support, advice, and information to patients and carers
- To work as part of a peripatetic specialist team in Trust wide outpatient clinics delivering specialist leg ulcer management treatments, to include wound bed preparation and compression therapy treatments
- To actively support patients encouraging self-care to prevent leg ulceration recurrence within the LLTS Well Leg Service
- To support the Registered Nurse / Podiatrist in patients’ homes to deliver specialist lower limb assessments to housebound patients under the care of Community Nursing Services
- To liaise with members of the wider healthcare teams - Vascular; Podiatry; Tissue Viability Service; Dermatology; GP’s and Practice Nurse

The Lower Limb Therapy Service (LLTS) has consistently improved outcomes for patients with lower limb ulceration, and we strive to empower patients by delivering holistic treatments that are effective and always tailored to individual needs.

The LLTS is a nurse led specialist service, delivering evidence treatments for patients, over the age of 18, who suffer with non-healing lower limb ulceration. We work cohesively with multidisciplinary teams across the Integrated Care Organisation (ICO), ensuring our patients receive holistic multidisciplinary treatments.

Registered Nursing Associates will demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to manage and prioritise a caseload under delegation, whilst working as part of the multi-disciplinary team. The role requires flexibility, and ability to meet the challenges of working in a busy clinic-based setting.

This post is for a full time applicant (37.5 hpw), Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Full vacancy details can be found on the attached Job Description/Person Specification.

Please refer to your suitability to the post in your supporting information from the role requirements or person specification.
