1:1 Sen Teaching Assistant

Twenty4seven Education are seeking someone who is able to work full time starting from September. A school we work with are looking for a strong SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 1-1 basis.

The role is working in KS1 with a pupil who has autism. For this role the school are seeking someone who is able to work well on their own and use their own initiative. You will be liaising with the class teacher and the SENco for this position.

**SEN experience is essential for this role.**

**Typical duties of a (1:1) Teaching Assistant**:

- Attend to the pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes
- Supervise and support pupils in access of learning
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans and Personal Care programmes.
- Assisting the class teacher with setting up and delivering
- Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.
- Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems etc.

**Desirable skills -**
- A good standard of general education (ie. NVQ level 2 or equivalent)
- Good numeracy and literacy skills - GCSE Maths and English
- Previous experience of working with young people
- Basic understanding of child development and learning
- Ability to use basic technology
- Ability to relate well to children and adults and respond appropriately
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
- Feel confident working 1:1 with a child under the guidance of their teacher

**Salary**: £80.00-£90.00 per day

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cradley Heath and Old Hill: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Certificate of Higher Education (required)

**Experience**:

- Special education: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
