Fluvial Geomorphologist
We are seeking a Fluvial Geomorphologist to join our consultancy team for the assessment, design and delivery of freshwater and tidal-related habitat restoration works including; river restoration, erosion control, infrastructure & dam repairs and wetland habitat enhancement. This is a full-time, permanent post.
This role can be based out of Breamore, Hampshire but with flexible working allowed for, including some working from home. The Company operates nationally, so the post will require occasional overnight stays.

Job Profile
Due to the varied nature of the role and tasks involved, close liaison with other members of the Consultancy and Operation teams is essential.
Consultancy
- Production of documents including high quality technical design drawings (GIS/CAD/Corel Draw), reports, proposals and cost estimates.
- Plan and undertake site investigations in and alongside waterways.
- Undertake/assist site topographical surveys (level, staff, etc).
- Project management including organisation of programme and maintaining project to time and to budget.
- Support and mentor assistant Consultants as required.
General
- Assist Directors and Senior Consultants with management tasks as required.
- Ensuring that work meets all relevant legislative standards including Health & Safety and environmental requirements.
Criteria
- A minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience working as a Fluvial Geomorphologist.
- Some existing working knowledge of the following disciplines: ecology, river engineering, river management, hydrology, surveying or river restoration.
- Use of Corel Draw and GIS packages and /or demonstrate an ability to quickly and competently learn new IT software packages _(in-house training will be provided)_.
- Competent writer of technical reports.
- Working knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel and Teams.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to organise and prioritise workload effectively in a multi-task environment.
- Physically fit and able to swim, work can involve walking for prolonged periods along riverbanks and in rivers/lakes/tidal zones.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Creative/articulate/innovative.
The following would be beneficial but not essential
- An environmental, engineering or science-based qualification.
- First Aid Qualification.
Excellent salary depending on suitability and experience.
