**Job overview**:
This one-year fixed term post is a fantastic opportunity to support nurses working in all parts of our health and care system. The role of the Career Navigator is to ensure that nurses can access quality career conversations to identify potential and raise awareness of opportunities to develop at all career stages. This will include providing individual tailored coaching and promoting clear career paths to help people understand the available routes through which they can achieve success.

To do this, you will be a registered nurse with a keen desire to support staff retention across Cornwall’s Health and Social Care sectors. Resilience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be needed to successfully coach individuals through career transitions and build relationships with a range of stakeholders.

A key outcome measure for this post will be the ability to retain the skills of our existing nurses and help them build satisfying and sustainable careers here in Cornwall.

Based with CFT as part of the placement expansion team, you will work in collaboration with learning and development leads, Practice Educators and our new Legacy Mentors, plus clinicians and internal and external training providers. We offer a supportive working environment and the opportunity to access training to develop your coaching and mentoring skills.

Secondments and flexible working are encouraged. Some travel will be required but you will be able to work from home when not on site.

**Main duties of the job**:
To ensure that the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly (CIoS) nursing and midwifery workforce can access quality career conversations to identify their potential.

Providing individual tailored coaching to staff to ensure they are fulfilled and in control of their careers. Individuals accessing the service may range from those who are newly entering the profession, to those seeking a change or are considering leaving.

The ability to retain the skills of our existing nursing workforce within the CIoS health & social care sectors.

Hosted by CFT but working across all parts of the health and social care system, there is a requirement to liaise with workforce leads, the placement expansion team, learning and development leads, Legacy Mentors, employers and clinicians and it will be essential to develop an
