**This Vacancy in Huddersfield is Full time, Permanent, with a Competitive Salary plus excellent benefits**

**Responsibilities of our** **Yard Operative**:

- Undertake yard duties, manual and machinery picks and undertake activities in order to meet the customer and business needs
- Ensure all suppliers, customers and hauliers comply with Company Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
- Waste movement, incoming and outgoing material supervision, material loading
- Liaise with staff to ensure procedures and processes are followed
- Manually sort waste to ensure that all waste is sufficiently separated to the levels agreed
- Maximise opportunities for increasing sales, reducing costs and implement improvements

**To become our Yard Operative you must have the following skills, experience and attributes**:

- Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload
- Competence in the use of forklift trucks and loading shovels is beneficial, but not essential
- Have a suitable fitness level to conduct work appropriately, which include manually picking waste from tipped skips
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be self-motivated
- Sufficiently mobile and flexible to work beyond the call of duty to achieve results
- Excellent organisation skills and good time management
