Empowering Learning Manchester are looking for a motivated SEND teaching assistant for a full-time job within a special educational needs school in Oldham.

The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their welcoming and pleasant school environment where each child is valued and recognised as an individual. The school believe that every child can sparkle given the correct support. The Teaching Assistant will work alongside the children to help them progress through stages, by helping the pupils read, write, numerate, and ensure everyone is respectful.

The school intend to present the best in everyone by ensuring the curriculum is imaginative to motivate and encourage the pupils to become the best version of themselves. The school will nurture and support the children and prepare them with the required skills to become confident, determined, and respectful with ambitious goals ahead.

**Teaching Assistant Summary**

As a special education needs teaching assistant you will have a passion for supporting individuals with physical disabilities, sensory impairments (i.e., hearing, or visual), speech and language difficulties, learning difficulties such as dyslexia, conditions such as autism or social, emotional, and mental health needs.

**Responsibilities**

Create a safe, uplifting, and supportive environment

Teach individuals or small groups of pupils within, or outside, the class.

Develop and adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of pupils

Cooperate with the classroom teacher to identify suitable activities for the pupils in relation to the curriculum

Assess children who have long or short-term learning difficulties and work with colleagues to identify individual pupils' special needs
