As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a critical role in improving our patients' experiences by providing hands on personal care (washing, toileting etc), monitoring patients conditions, and supporting our patients with eating and drinking. You will, therefore, need to be caring and kind, follow instructions and have excellent communication and listening skills.

Our teams will work with you to find an area that is tailored to your skills and long-term aspirations. The opportunities we have available are limited to adult inpatient medical and surgical specialties and comprise of mixed-gender wards, as well as emergency care.

In return, we can offer personal and professional development through in-house and external training. A buddy will be assigned to you to support with your onboarding and guide you through your daily tasks and responsibilities.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be passionate about improving the life of our patients while demonstrating a flexible approach and excellent communication skills. You will show a respectful, caring, and compassionate attitude in your daily duties.

All the roles are permanent and offered on a full-time and part-time basis. Flexible working opportunities would be considered where possible.

Typical shift patterns are 07:00 - 19:30 and 19:00 - 07:30, across all seven days of the week (including bank holidays).

Your daily duties will be performed under the kind supervision of our registered staff. The main duties may include:
Personal care, food, personal hygiene and overall reassurance, comfort, and safety.

Help patients move around.

Learn about individuals' specific needs and provide help in the most appropriate way.

Maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable clinical environment to live and work in.

Communicate to patients and their families.

Manage stock levels for linen and other supplies.

When your tasks prove to be challenging, our Wellbeing team will be there to support you as well as our in-house physiotherapy services.
