Cromer, United Kingdom Norfolk County Council Full time

**Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £30,151 to £32,020 per annum (Grade H) | Cromer**

Children’s Services are seeking to recruit experienced Family Practitioners for their Family Support Teams based at North Norfolk District Council covering the Cromer locality, with the occasional travel to Norwich. One permanent post based at North Norfolk District Council, Cromer

Our purpose in Family Support is to keep children and young people safe through early intervention to prevent the need for statutory involvement. We do this by working alongside the family, their network and other professionals naming and addressing worries, creating plans which identify the support needed to achieve positive outcomes and empower families to effect change.

As a Family Practitioner you will use your knowledge and skills to complete direct work and interventions using a range of resources with the children on your caseload to ensure you are capturing how life is like for them and to improve outcomes.

The role of a Family Practitioner is varied and at times can be challenging so a high level of resilience is needed. It is fast paced so you will need to be flexible, use your initiative and skill set to manage your workload. A family’s needs and situation can change so you will need to be able to prioritise, adapt your practice and remain calm in difficult situations.

Family Support is a strengths-based service where the child is at the centre of our work, their voice and views are the most important. You will need to be able to identify and understand risk and keep this under review this throughout the case.

You will need good IT skills (being proficient in Word, Excel and databases) and be able to communicate effectively at all levels.

We want our people to be inspired and motivated to work well together, make the most of our workspaces, enjoy a healthy work-life balance, and deliver excellent services to Norfolk and its people. Flexibility is built into the way we work, with hybrid working a key feature for many roles. Our technology platform and equipment are first class, enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We ask that you have in place good Broadband connectivity.
