The Head of HR is part of the Extended Leadership Team and is responsible for the delivery of a high quality, modern, effective, and efficient HR function, that is well respected across the organisation and is strategically aligned to organisational priorities.

The role leads on the provision of strategic HR direction for the organisation to support the delivery of high-quality patient care, staff experience, efficiencies, and the organisation’s strategic objectives. The Head of HR works with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support business/workforce planning including transformation, engagement, workforce performance, embedding good HR practice and EDI.
- Lead on various workforce projects taking full accountability for their delivery on time and within resources.
- Lead the performance management of the HR team.
- Lead the development of key performance indicators across the function and ensure systems are in place to monitor and provide assurance on their effectiveness.
- Monitor and lead the organisation’s payroll process, ensuring staff are paid correctly and in a timely manner.
- Oversee the development and delivery of a high-quality HR service.
- To contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring that the human resource implications of service developments and delivery are highlighted.
- Develop and operationalise the People & Culture strategy, ensuring that actions align with the organisation’s wider priorities and goals.
- Provide specialist advice on resourcing issues underpinned by theoretical knowledge and experience.
