The Temporary Wellbeing Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of the Friday Night Social Club at Hargrave Hall Community Centre.

We are looking for a wellbeing assistant to work every Friday until March 2024 between 3.30-7.30pm. We are looking for someone to start immediately.

Hargrave Hall’s offers free, non-judgemental spaces where people can go to stay warm and maybe enjoy some company, a hot drink and a light meal, or simply spend time reading a book or watching a film.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. Support in the delivery of Hargrave’s Friday Night Social providing a space where locals can have access to free refreshments, hot meals, snacks, period products, nappies, sockets for charging mobile devices, board games and live TV.

2. Signposting to food distribution services within Islington that support households experiencing food insecurities to have access to fresh, healthy and free/low cost food and produce with the goal of improving the health and wellbeing of local residents.

3. Supporting the coordination of refreshments and food

4. Ensuring the cleanliness of the centre, fridges and storage areas in order that they meet established standards for good practice in regard to food safety and hygiene at all times

5. Maintaining an excellent level of customer service ensuring all attendees feel welcome while maintaining professional boundaries

6. Support the volunteers

Essential Skills and Experience

1. Experience of developing and delivering support and activities promoting health and wellbeing in the community

2. Knowledge and understanding of health inequalities, mental health prevention and early interventions

3. Experience of supporting individuals to improve their wellbeing in a professional capacity providing information, signposting, making referrals and following up

4. Ability to work in partnership with a range of individuals, organisations and groups to support and engage the local community

5. Ability to respond sensitively to needs of local residents across all ages, from diverse backgrounds including people with complex needs

6. Ability to anticipate problems, design solutions, take initiative and be creative

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 10 months
Part-time hours: 4 per week

**Salary**: £13.00 per hour
