JCB Group Purchasing are looking for a Category Buyer to join the team.

We are seeking a talented Category Buyer to join our dynamic purchasing team at JCB. As a Category Buyer, your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute category strategies, driving cost savings, supplier performance improvement, and overall value creation for the organisation. We consider applicants from a wide range of purchasing backgrounds and will provide relevant training.

**Role Overview**:
As a Category Buyer you’ll be at the business end of what we do in a highly visible and dynamic role.

**Your focus will include**:

- Developing & implementing global category strategies to support our manufacturing operations in UK, India, USA, China & Brazil
- Engaging & negotiating with suppliers globally to optimise value - maximising supplier competitiveness and performance.
- Conduct market analysis to identify and onboard new suppliers to support JCB’s ambitious growth plans.
- Lead cross-functional teams, working closely with Product Development Engineers to help launch new products and technologies.

You bring a mixture of inter-personal & analytical skills that allows you successfully to negotiate & influence internal stakeholders and suppliers.

You are results driven and take ownership of projects you are working to achieve success.

You consider different perspectives to comprehensively define business requirements and develop creative strategies to achieve these.

You have a can-do attitude and are resilient & adaptable that is essential in a fast-moving environment.
