West Coast Partnership Development (WCPD) is working with Department for Transport (DfT), HS2 Ltd to design, develop and put in place the new world-class, high-speed services that will run on HS2.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the WCPD Train Services team (Accepted Programme) as **Train Planner.**

The **purpose of the job** is to deliver the production of timetable plans for WCPD, ensuring that the Train Services strategy is underpinned by sound operational planning. This includes working closely with the wider Train Services team and enabling the translation of strategic objectives into credible, high quality train plans.

**Key accountabilities**
- Play a central role in the delivery of detailed train plans as required by the WCPD programme.
- Carry out timetabling and rolling stock diagramming activity under the direction of the Senior Train Planner
- Ensure that timetables and diagrams are delivered to a high standard in terms of operational compliance and in terms of achieving the objectives and priorities as set out by the Senior Train Planner
- Identify key train planning issues and constraints that may affect Train Service Specification plans, communicating them effectively to the Senior Train Planner and others.
- Work closely with the other Train Planner (and others within the wider team) to ensure that train planning work is well co-ordinated with other activities.
- Collaborate with train planners in Network Rail and HS2 Ltd in developing high quality train plans.
- Undertake other duties as required by the Senior Train Planner and the Head of Train Services Specification
- Role reports to Senior Train Planner
- There are no line management responsibilities.
- To ensure the safety of yourself, others and the railway are at the forefront of everything we do.

The role is based in London (338 Euston Road) and home based and some travel on our network will be required at times. The expectation will be an average of 3 days per week in the office.

Salary is circa £45,000 per annum depending on skills & experience.

**West Coast Partnership Development**

West Coast Partnership comprises two distinct parts
- Avanti West Coast and West Coast Partnership Development. Avanti West Coast runs the train services from London to north England, north Wales and Scotland.

Our work in WCPD is focused on developing plans for what the new high-speed services will look like (customer experience), how they will work (railway operations) and how we will start running new services and trains (mobilisation). Over the next 10 years we will develop and implement a programme of recommendation projects covering all aspects of setting up and running the future business. (HS2 Ltd are building the new railway and associated infrastructure).
