**The opportunity**

As the Summer Accommodation Services Assistant you will assist the Halls Manager and Accommodation Office in the efficient and professional operation of the Department and provide an excellent Student Experience.

You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.

**What you’ll do - key duties**
- General administrative duties, including: Photocopying, filing, processing of incoming and outgoing correspondence, word processing/data input as and when required.
- Deal with telephone and personal visit enquiries regarding accommodation from students, landlords and other interested parties.
- Assisting in the maintenance of manual and computerised records - students and landlords.
- Check study bedrooms and communal areas prior to the arrival of guests ensuring that the required cleaning standards have been met and overall that the accommodation is presented to a high standard and that windows and doors have been locked.
- Provide assistance to the Accommodation Services Manager and Deputy Accommodation Services Manager when required.
- Provide office cover in the absence of the Accommodation Officer, and / or Halls Reception cover at Cyncoed or Plas Gwyn campuses occasionally as and when required.

**What you’ll bring - essential **experience & strengths**
- A working knowledge of IT systems including Word processing, Access database, and Excel Spreadsheets.
- Experience of working in a customer orientated environment.
- Experience of working in an administrative environment and with administrative systems.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to deal with sensitive situations and be able to calm a difficult situation or customer.
- Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
