About the role
Cambridgeshire County Council School Governance Team is seeking a Business Officer to support the holistic administration of the service. The role will include the delivery of some statutory responsibilities as well as general administration support for the service.

The Governor Services Team works closely with schools across the county delivering advice guidance and support on all governance issues as well as providing a comprehensive training package for School Governors alongside a Governance Professionals service to support the smooth running and governance of our schools.

The team has an ambitious service plan to enhance the reach, impact and quality of the services we provide to our schools while delivering additional revenue for the local authority and the Business Officer role will be a crucial element in the successful delivery of the service strategy.

**This role is hybrid, with offices based in Alconbury Weald and Papworth.**

What will you be doing?
- Work closely with Senior Adviser for Governance to support the administration of Governor Services
- Maintain the Governor Hub database
- changes to Governing Board membership, update constitutions, run membership reports on request as well as yearly updates of membership reports (sending the school governance membership reports addressed to clerks at all schools, record responses, update database and clerks and chairs distribution lists)
- LA Governor nomination work, includes sending out LA governor vacancy and terms of office re-appointment letters, as well as the monthly schedule work
- Answer helpline calls where possible or pass to the relevant Governance Adviser
- Update the Governance Intervention Spreadsheet as Ofsted inspections occur.
- Update the School Allocations spreadsheet with changes including chairs/heads/ clerks (used for distribution lists)
- Distribute Camclerk and Training & Support SLAs annually, chase returns and update finance spreadsheet with responses
- Raise invoices for Camclerk SLA for subscribing schools - specialist clerking for all schools termly, SLA for maintained schools annually in February, SLA for academies - 2 terms in February and 1 term in June (based on the figures in the Camclerks finance spreadsheet)
- Raise invoices for Training & Support SLA for all subscribing schools annually in October (based on the figures in the Governor Training finance spreadsheet)
- Raise invoices for additional fees and charges as they occur throughout the year e.g. specialist clerking, additional meetings etc.
- Raise PO & requisitions to pay suppliers to the service as required including external trainers, partners and internal journal revenue transfers
- Maintain the Service Plan and associated Action Plan ensuring actions are followed up and delivered on
- Additional tasks as required by the Head of Service.
