Technical Planner

We are a temporary power company based in Chippenham, close to junction 17 just off the M4 and are looking to fill the post of Technical Planner in our Operations Department. The Technical Planner ensures the Project Managers’ requirements for transport, plant and associated equipment are fulfilled either by using the in-house fleet or by sourcing from 3rd party suppliers, all within budget and to the required time frame.

This role would normally be required to work at / from Power Logistics Services Ltd contracted sites but may involve working away from the office at any of our sites, which could include those outside of the United Kingdom,

The Company offers a competitive salary and benefits dependent on experience and qualifications. The hours of working are 9am to 5pm with a 30 minute lunch break. However you may be required to work outside these hours to meet Company requirements.

Key responsibilities:

- Internal sourcing of plant for projects.
- External sourcing of plant shortages for projects.
- Approval of plant hire and associated transport Purchase Orders.
- Approval of invoices for plant hire, transport and associated services.
- Management of Power Logistics plant tracking system and plant availability.
- Updating supplier databases as required ensuring suppliers are technically compliant with Company & industry requirements.
- Liaising closely with Engineering department, Operations Planning Manager, Project Managers and Senior Managers.
- Managing enquiries for plant dry or damp hires as assigned by the Senior Managers.
- Management & continual development of plant supplier relationships ensuring compliance with the Company standards.
- Working with PLL Asset Manager regarding damage and loss of equipment reporting and quality of equipment. Including suggestions for future purchasing.
- Provision of PLL plant project figures and utilisation to Asset Manager & Senior Managers - Planning and Commercial.
- Management of internal and external plant delivery/collection notes and fuel delivery dockets.
- Working with the DGSA to ensure paperwork is compliant with ADR requirements.
- Ensuring financial targets are met on projects in line with Company requirements.
- Provision of support to the wider Operations team, where required.
- Involvement in processes for Engineering / Testing, and R&D / future developments.
- Having an awareness of the wider market and available technologies - feeding back to the Operations and Engineering teams.
- Provision of technical support for other team members, as required, including on site.
- Maintenance of Company confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Contribution of ideas into the continuous improvement of systems, processes, policies and increasing GP.
- Uphold the core Company values and comply with all stipulations held within Company contracts, handbook, policies and procedures.
- Co-operate with the Company in all Health & Safety related matters to ensure personal safety and safety of all others by adhering to and enforcing Power Logistics Health and Safety Policy at all times.
- Any other tasks deemed suitable & relevant to the role such as providing holiday cover and managing projects as required by the company.
