I'm working with a local authority in the South-East to help them find an Interim Head of Law and Governance to join the team. This is a great opportunity, offering flexible working and a very competitive rate.

Duties include:

- Leading Legal and Democratic Services
- Developing the council's strategic approach to Governance and Democratic Services
- Acting as Monitoring Officer and Data Protection Officer
- Ensuring that the council's corporate governance framework is effective, with systems and processes in place
- Responsibility for budgets

The council are looking for someone to start ASAP, so the Interim Head of Law and Governance should be available on short notice. Previous experience in a similar role is required for this position, as is a professional legal qualification, such as solicitor,legal executive, lawyer, etc.

The Interim Head of Law and Governance can work flexibly, so they can be located further afield.
