**About the role**
We are a team of people who love and look after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world. We create space for spirits to stir and be stirred.
We are looking for a dynamic, confident and motivated Deputy Team Leader to join our operational management team at Hampton Court Palace. Your role will be to manage a team of seasonal Palace Hosts as well as leading the wider Palace Host team, to ensurethe consistent delivery of excellent customer service to our visitors, the security of the contents and fabric of the building, as well as responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of the palace day to day.
Leading from the front and working closely with Team Leaders and Palace Operations Manager, your duties will also include project management, training and performance management, as well as carrying out palace opening and closing procedures. You will supportongoing and seasonal recruitment as required and deputise for the Palace Host Team Leaders as required.
You will deliver a seamless and distinctive customer experience across the site, ensuring that the highest levels of customer service are met by yourself and the Team. You will ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to, and that the Palace Host teamare presented to the expected standards.
**About you**
Excellent communication, influencing skills and a passion for customer service are essential in this role. You will be used to multi-tasking and working under pressure, as well as working both cooperatively and independently. This is a varied role and youwill need to be well organised, solution oriented and motivated, and be familiar with Fire, Health & Safety, Safeguarding and Security policies and regulations.
A key factor is to be an active team player in a small team, being flexible and able to anticipate and resolve any issues. You will have a positive and flexible approach, being able to adapt your style to respond to visitor needs. Some team management experiencewould be desirable.
