**Purpose of the role**
The Prime Brokerage & Trading Legal team is part of the wider in-house legal department at Man Group plc (“Man”) with team members consisting of 3 lawyers and 3 paralegals based in London and New York.
The Team is responsible for the completion of all trading agreements for funds managed by the investment management engines. These agreements cover various financial trading products and require ongoing negotiations with various broker dealers and continuousassessment and implementation of regulations that impact such products.
Your role as a paralegal/onboarding specialist will involve working with all team members to accomplish the team’s core legal trading responsibilities. A key component of this role is developing and maintaining relationships with internal teams and third-partyservice providers.
**Specific responsibilities**
- Working on new fund launches with lead lawyers, setting up and maintaining additional trading relationships for existing funds with broker-dealers
- Participation in product meetings to assess trading requirements of trading funds gaining exposure to legal and commercial aspects of running a hedge fund
- Working closely with broker counterparties to ensure they understand the legal structure of Man's trading entities, the strategies of the funds, the legal documents required to trade, and the roles and responsibilities of the investment management engines
- Assisting with the review and completion of legal agreements governing trading of derivatives, futures, asset repurchases, securities lending and prime brokerage arrangements, working closely with the team lawyers and external counsel where required
- Coordination of the execution of various documents for the funds, liaising with onshore and offshore fund directors and company secretaries
- Liaising with other Man departments, including front-office, operations, compliance and middle-office accounting teams to complete set ups for trading
- Communicating with multiple internal teams to keep them abreast of the various stages in the trading documentation process
- Updating and maintaining Man's document management and fund information databases

- Communicating with confidence and cultivating connections with people at various financial institutions including banks and other asset managers, internal business and legal teams, external counsel, fund boards
**Education and experience**
- Strong academics
- Legal degree preferred
- Some prior paralegal or onboarding experience (ideally in a bank or a derivatives trading legal team) is preferred but not absolutely required
- High level of communication
