You will have the opportunity to contribute to our industry-leading research and development programme. Recent R&D projects have included industry-leading studies into real-world turbine performance, the advancement of engineering models of turbine wake effects and the world’s largest published validation of offshore wind farm energy yield assessment.

We cultivate a professional, yet open and inclusive, team environment where commercial commitment to top quality technical work is highly valued. Your placement will involve innovative and exciting work with every opportunity to learn and develop new skills and knowledge from many diverse and experienced people in an exciting growth industry.

**What you’ll be doing**:
You will be required to complete a project that will be of material commercial benefit to the K2M Analysis Services team by improving the efficiency, accuracy, or dependability of our work. Delivery of the project will be directly supported by your supervisor as well as the wider Analysis Services team.

- Analysis of long-term trends using reference meteorological data
- Modelling of wind flow over wind farm sites using CFD and mesoscale models
- Calculation of long-term wind farm energy yield, including consideration of energy yield losses such as wake effects, turbine performance and environmental constraints such as noise
- Written and verbal communication of complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Effective teamwork to deliver projects on time and to budget

Our working environment is open plan, allowing junior staff immediate opportunity to work closely with experienced senior staff. You will work closely with analysts to support our work and contribute to developing new tools or knowledge to improve our processes.

**About you**:

If you also have relevant previous work experience or education in the renewables industry or a background in fluid dynamics, you’ll definitely have an edge. Excellent communication skills and the flexibility and enthusiasm to thrive as part of our expanding team will also come in handy.

**Duration**:
