Damicor are recruiting a Maintenance Engineering Supervisor for a global logistics provider who will be responsible for the co-ordination of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and services to maintain the Material Handling Equipment (MHE) system.
On a daily basis, this role is to ensure both scheduled and unscheduled tasks are being prioritised and carried out effectively on all MHE using the correct procedures necessary to assist in all aspects of maintenance relating to an automated sort system including,but not limited to; powered conveyor systems, telescopic conveyors, scanning, proximity and x-ray technology, chutes and caster/roller decks. It is also the responsibility of the post holder to be the first point of contact for escalation of engineering supportservices. In addition it is the responsibility of the post holder to actively contribute to system functionality at all times to achieve or exceed the Service Level Agreement (SLA) in an organised, efficient, timely and safe manner.
From time to time, in the absence of the Engineering Departmental Manager, the role will also be the first point of contact for his/her team to the other departments ( e.g. Operations, H&S, Sort Control).
The MES role is the first level of supervision within the Maintenance Department and will be responsible for
- Setting day to day work priorities for an engineering shift team and assessing progress
- Managing sickness and other absence of direct reports
They must also be able to act on their own initiative demonstrating a capacity, ability and aptitude to the role/responsibilities. The must have good communication skills in providing timely reports and updates to the engineering team and Operational managers.Additionally the MES will work on process improvement projects and work study as directed by the Engineering Manager aimed at cost, wastage & downtime / stoppage reduction.
Knowledge of PLC's would also be beneficial but not essential to the role.
