Castell Howell Foods is Wales’ leading independent food service wholesaler, servicing the length and breadth of Wales, the Border Counties and the South West of England. We currently have a vacancy for
**Yard Operative** based at our Cross Hands depot.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To ensure the collection and correct segregation of all recyclable plastics and cardboard and process at the recycling facility on site
- Operate a fork lift truck to handle and store used pallets, recyclables and waste materials arising from the warehouse
- Safe organising and stacking of used clean pallets on site ready for collection/despatch
- Carry out stock checks of pallets on site ready for despatch
- General housekeeping duties to include litter picking on site, the use of a road sweeper (training will be provided), grass cutting with the use of equipment such as ride on lawn mower and strimmer
- Maintain Health & Safety on the yard by assisting with the flow of traffic during busy delivery periods. This would include general banksman duties to ensure vehicles park correctly while waiting to be offloaded at goods in and directing traffic out of the yard safely

**What we offer**:

- Full time position contracted to 43 hours per week. Working Monday to Friday + 1 in 4 Saturday
- £23,299.12 per annum
- 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays. You will be expected to work some Bank Holidays if required.
