Quality Inspector

**Quality Inspector (Subcontract)**

Bedford Engineering is a subcontract precision engineering company based in Stockport just off the M60, we are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector to help fill the hole our continued growth has created. We primarily manufacture small to medium batch work for a variety of sectors, including Aerospace, Rail, Medical, Renewables and Oil and Gas.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Visual, manual and Faro / CMM inspection of components during the manufacturing process.
- Generate CMM Programs (Offline and Online, with / without CAD) and reports for new and existing part numbers.
- Make accept/reject decision on inspected products and suggest possible correction when required.
- Prepare First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR's).
- Maintain & calibrate inspection and measuring equipment.
- Create detailed Non-Conformance Reports when required - Coordinate nonconformity process from opening to closing.
- Understand the calibration requirement and process.
- Liaise with Management / Machine shop operative regarding product status
- Liaise with Customers where applicable.
- Ensure traceability requirements have been adhered to
- Set Priority’s with Management

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Working as quality inspector
- Using FARO Arm and programming CMM’s PC-DIMS
- Reading and understanding technical drawings and bills of material
- Practical knowledge of GD&T
- Documentation control
- Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Work to tight deadlines.
- Experienced using manual inspection equipment, vernier, micrometers, surface roughness testers, plug and ring gauges.

**SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE**:

- Computer literacy including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Good oral and written communication skills essential.
- Ability to complete FAIR’s and non-conformance reports
- Knowledge of ISO 9001
- Knowledge of the sub-contract environment advantageous

**Working Hours**:
Monday to Friday - 06.00am - 17.00pm (Flexi-time)

This is an interesting and varied position.

Excellent Rates of Pay, negotiable dependent on experience, 25 days a year holiday + Statutory Holidays, Bonuses and Company Pension

**Salary**: From £14.00 per hour
