Job Purpose:

- To make, document, and send product samples to customers in accordance with internal PD procedures / customer codes of practice.
- Support the PD manager in preparing and presenting samples to internal and external customers.
- To always ensure the smooth running of PD areas, maintaining a high level of GMP and hygienic practice.

Principal Accountabilities:

- To make kitchen samples in accordance with the PD procedure.
- Ensure kitchen products are made / assessed in accordance with customer codes of practice.
- To ensure all samples from kitchen and relevant trials are sent for internal and external signoff in an organised and timely manner.
- Maintain paperwork / IT system to provide documented trail of PD work undertaken.
- Support meetings regarding PD projects / feasibility and challenges with relevant site / business functions.
- Collaborate with Procurement to arrange and deliver raw materials and ingredients requirements to site.
- Assist in other PD activities where required, such as presentation to customers alongside PD manager.
- Assist in production trials, when necessary, particularly new product designs and concepts.

Qualifications, Background and Experience:

- Degree in Food Science or related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience > 1 years of product development from concept to manufacture withing a food / drink manufacturing environment.
- A passion for food and drink, trends, and consumer direction.
- Proven people management skills and experience as a people manager.
- Good interpersonal skills and skilled in making presentations.
- Computer literate with competency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Full UK driving license essential
