Laboratory Technician

Due to our continued growth, we have an excellent opportunity for a **Laboratory Technician**to join our team based in **Burntwood, Staffordshire.** You will join us on a** full time, permanent basis **and in return, you will receive a**competitive salary of £25,000 to £30,000 (DOE) plus health and life insurance, pension contribution**

**About the Laboratory Technician role**:
**Working Hours**: 8:30 am
- 5:00 pm

In this role, you**will perform laboratory work (mostly involving Gas Chromatography) to support new product development, research and development and positive release of products. As the business grows, the challenges and opportunities of the role will increase, with potential additions to the lab being GC-MS, use of SPME, HPLC and biochemical analysis of fresh produce.

**Responsibilities as our Laboratory Technician will include**:

- Processing of samples on GC-FID/TCD to determine ethylene, carbon dioxide and oxygen concentrations- GLP and document control- Validation and verification of calibration and sample data- Technical report writing and providing progress updates to management on a regular basis- Assist in our on-going fruit trials as necessary, taking the form of quality assessments, photography, pressure measurements, sensory assessments and similar
**Required Skills and Experience we're looking for in our Laboratory Technician**:

- BSc. Chemistry or similar- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Open lab (or similar)- Significant hands-on experience in Gas Chromatography (ideally 3 years):

- GC calibrations- Method development and validation- GC troubleshooting and general maintenance- Sample preparation and GLP
