**Balco design to the relevant Euro codes and can confirm that any balconies delivered through any of our projects will have a minimum service life of 60 years.**

**Balco can incorporate our specialist design works to ensure a robust developed design for the balconies. Our balconies can be designed to tailor the style of the building and materials used on the façade. We employ over 40 dedicated design staff who will be able to work on any balcony project, along with our in-house structural engineering team, who will conduct all the necessary calculations.**

**Balco’s key production facility is located at our HQ in Växjö, Sweden. Växjö produces the majority of Balco’s products for the UK.**

**The employee is responsible for the correct assembly process of the product accordingly to the technical documentation of the project, which is handed over by the foreman/supervisor.**

**Once assembled, the employee will attend construction projects to install the products onto buildings.**

**Daily tasks will include**:

- Preparation of the workplace in accordance with the H&S regulations and fire protection.
- Preparation of work station’s equipment (necessary materials and tools) to provide a smooth assembly process.
- Collecting - on the basis of the technical documentation, drawings and methods - any components / materials needed to complete the assembly process.
- Care for the quality standards of the company, constant self-control of the production process and its result.
- Perform simple maintenance work of technical equipment and tools.
- Consultation with the supervisor of the production process in any case of doubt about the quality of materials or technical data to prevent improper product performance.
- Keeping the workplace tidy.
- Informing the supervisor of possible material’s or tool’s shortages as well as faults.
- Fill in with the care and precision the internal documentation.

**What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?**

The qualification you will gain is: Construction Assembly & Installation Operative - Level 2

**How will I learn & what qualifications will I gain?**
- CAIO L2 - Skills, Knowledge & Behaviours - assessed in the workplace
- Specialist Training programme - Block release
- Slinger and Signaller CPCS A40 Level 2 (Mandatory Qualification)
- End Point Assessment - Knowledge test (Multiple Choice), Observation with Questioning & an Interview underpinned by a portfolio of evidence

**Desired skills required**:

- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of reading technical drawings - Essential
- Knowledge of hand tools (chisel, screwdriver, hammer, measure) - Essential
- Knowledge of pneumatic tools (wringers, drills, angular, grinders) - Essential
- Telehandler licence - Optional or willing to learn

**Apprentices must show commitment to the following**:

- To achieve apprenticeship standard within the specified time frame
- Attend the apprenticeship induction programme
- Attend all of the training sessions for the programme whenever necessary
- Undertake any other required development work as part of the apprenticeship programme as requested
- Any other duties as deemed appropriate by senior staff.
