**Position Title: Schedules Specialist**

**Reports to: Network Systems Manager/ Network Development Scheduler**

**Location: Leeds - Hunslet depot**

Position Summary

We are looking for people with a strong technical aptitude, to work in a growing central team, which will provide technical and expert support to our UK Bus Operating companies in regards to bus & driver scheduling and support technology development. The role, will look to exploit recent advances in technology using a smart approach as we look to deliver data driven journey solutions.

You will have front-line exposure to real world issues, using a toolkit of cutting edge tech solutions to solve some of the most stubborn transportation challenges. The role gives you the opportunity to work in a department that makes a real-world difference to people's lives.

This position will encompass many different aspects including: Stakeholder Management,User Training and support, Project Management and Data Analysis. Optimisation expertise - Configure rules and preferences into Optibus & Prospectives platform, create different scenarios to present to the OPCOs, system development testing, user training and much more.

Finally, you will support our team to Improve the product - Contribute to and collaborate with the Optibus & Prospective product teams based on the end users feedback and experience, playing an important role in core system development.

The scheduling role is key to the success of the company and plays a huge part in ensuring we deliver a great service to our customers and an attractive working environment for our people.

Key Accountabilities
- Assist First UK Bus Operating companies with the preparation of timetables and documentation for services registrations as required
- Assist First UK Bus Operating companies as required with the compilation of duties and rosters through expert optimisation within both legal and locally agreed constraints, providing expert support in the Optibus system
- Balance efficiency with duty quality to ensure we maintain profitability whilst improving the daily working lifes of our people
- Supporting Opcos to find solutions for service-related issues and new initiatives and development
- Assist with the preparation of tender bids for submission as required throughout the UK, including support of our growing B2B operation
- Provide accurate data and information to internal stakeholders as required by the line manager
- Maintain strong links with internal stakeholders across a number of Opcos and Departments
- Provide system testing for new system functionality
- Support system users with “how to” and best practice guidance

Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required
- Excellent customer service focus
- Instinctive understanding of technology and an ability to manipulate inputs into software to achieve the business goals
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills, with the ability to understand data
- Basic understanding of scheduling principles
- Working understanding of MS Excel
- Good communication and organisation skills
- Basic knowledge of the road traffic act preferred although not essential
- Reliable, with a commitment to learning and developing in the role
