The role of Power BI Specialist will sit within the FP&A Team. In this role, you should have a background in data and business analysis, be analytical and an excellent communicator, with good business acumen and a problem-solving and flexible attitude. Experience with Power BI is essential, including the use of DAX.

**Responsibilities will include**:
Creating/amending Power BI reports and dashboards using Power BI Desktop on Live Connect mode
Creating/amending DAX report measures
Publishing reports to the Power BI Report Server/Power BI Service
Providing technical guidance to FP&A Analysts on anything relating to Power BI and DAX
Continuous refinement and improvement of existing suite of reports
Manage / conduct report and data testing, within the team and fixing defects
Liaise with the IT team, in relation to the data warehouse, cubes, refreshes etc.
Develop and update process documentation and reports bible
Maximise the end user experience, in terms of accessibility and report design
Keeping up to date with new Power BI functionality, across platforms
Support the rest of the Financial Planning & Analysis team with the delivery of the annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
Identify gaps in management information that will contribute to the understanding of the performance of the business.
Specify and produce regular/ad-hoc reports to provide detailed analysis regarding business performance.
Perform client reporting for key clients of the Firm.
Deputise for other team members as and when required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (BESPOKE TO ROLE)
1+ years' time served working in a Finance / BI Analyst role (Essential)
Hands-on experience building reports and dashboards with Microsoft Power BI (Essential)
Familiar with Power BI report functionality such drill-through, tooltips and bookmarks (Essential)

**DAX**: able to create efficient report measures with knowledge of core formulas (e.g. CALCULATE, SUMX) (Essential)
Strong problem-solving ability (e.g. for debugging DAX formulas) (Essential)
Good understanding of tabular modelling (preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, specifically Excel (Essential)
Experience working in a commercial finance / FP&A department (preferred) or having a good grasp of financial reports
General awareness of business software (e.g. law firm practice management systems) (preferred)
Organised with a proactive approach to work (Essential)
Power Apps and other Microsoft tools an advantage
User experience design capability
A desire to learn and succeed in a fast paced finance team, with a specific focus on delivering high quality management information and analysis to the business and our clients.
Must be able to demonstrate a propensity to understand the business model and dynamics of a law firm.
Good communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels of the business.
Strong attention to and desire to operate at a high level of detail.
Ability to multi-task and not be afraid to ‘get stuck in'.
Good team player as well as capable of working using own initiative.
Excellent analytical skills.
Able to present data in formats relevant to the audience.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
