**What is a Mechatronics Apprenticeship Like?**

This is where mechanical and electrical engineering meet and it’s as exciting as it gets. Robotics, electronics, product engineering and more. Fixing the machines that make our product. Doesn’t get much more important than that, does it? Without you, things won’t just grind to a halt they’ll stay that way. Every time a problem arises, you’re right there, on the job. Yes, it will be highly pressurised at times, but the career you’ll develop will be amazing and really important in our business’s future.

We’re after people who don’t panic when things don't go to plan but take to it with heads-down seriousness and a get-things-done approach. People who can think on their feet and solve problems methodically and logically. You’ll love the idea of being around JCBs and the machines that make them. And you’ll understand the seriousness of a paused production line and the impact it can have on our bottom line, so you’ll be the kind of person who’s always raring to go.

For the first 22 months of the apprenticeship, you will mainly train at our dedicated training partner's development centre (Toyota, Derby) with some placement weeks based at JCB. The final 22 months you will be mainly based in JCB gaining on the job experience.

For the first year of the apprenticeship, you will mainly train at our dedicated training partner's Coleg Cambria, Deeside site, with half terms being based at JCB Transmissions. Year 2 you will spend 4 days per week at JCB Transmissions and day release at Deeside. Your The final 2 years you will be mainly based in JCB gaining on the job experience.
