Strategic Buyer

Key Responsibilities:

- Development of strategic sourcing plans and strategies for allocated areas of spend
- Provide cost effective sourcing of parts supply using data analysis to deliver lower acquisition cost of parts
- Supporting the Group Procurement Supplier consolidation strategy
- Drafting and managing RFQ’s through to delivery
- Negotiating and executing robust supplier agreements & ongoing contract management
- Tracking supplier on-time delivery performance and compliance with agreed pricing
- Management and overall accountability for the performance and compliance of the supply chain, leading improvement actions with the help of sub-contract managers
- Providing bid support to the commercial team and analysis of customer new bids and business requirements

**Required skills**:

- Procurement is built on strong relationships; those relationships can often be tested due to the need to take a different course of action over that which has become custom and practise (e.g. supplier consolidation)
- Technology is also a strong area, with the ability to articulate in specification the need for managed data and allow automated services such as PO creation
- The understanding of the commercial environment and the variables available to the team are important.
