We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, with a strong ethos in team work and quality improvement who is fully registered with the GMC and is on the Specialist Register or has a CCT in Renal Medicine (or within six months of obtaining it) by the interview date. Dual accreditation in General (Internal) Medicine is desirable, but not essential, for shortlisting.

In joining the Trust, you will have access to a wide range of staff benefits including health and wellbeing support, finance schemes and discounts. To support your learning and development you will be entitled to a study leave budget of £3,000 across three years, along with support from our learning and development team. The Trust also offers an extra 2 days annual leave for consultants on top of the existing allowance as detailed in the 2008 - Consultant Terms and Conditions. It is an exciting time to join the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Renal Team. There are plans for a multimillion pound redevelopment of the York dialysis unit, the renal ward and ongoing service development opportunities in York and affiliated satellite hospitals.

The Renal Department enjoys a close affiliation to the Hull York Medical School and has an active research team. A full range of renal replacement therapies are managed by the team, including pioneering self-care haemodialysis areas.

York Hospital is located just minutes away from the historic city centre of York which is home to various restaurants, bars, shops and theatres perfect for all ages. There are many bus routes accessible throughout York and the train station is only a ten-minute drive from the hospital with regular services to surrounding areas such as Leeds and the ability to travel to London in under 2 hours.
