Paralegal/Claims Handler Job - Bristol + Flexible Working - Professional Indemnity Insurance
Your new company
Our client is a leading international law firm with an excellent reputation in a number specialisms. They are leaders in Insurance, Health, Real Estate and are recognised as experts throughout the sectors that they service. They currently have a excellent opportunityfor a junior Paralegal/Claims Handler to join their Professional Indemnity team in Bristol, who act on numerous high value and sensitive claims for clients throughout the UK including solicitors, surveyors, accountants, brokers, engineers, architects and theirinsurers. This role is based in our clients Bristol office however you will be able to work remotely from home for part of the week if desired.
Your new role
You will manage a varied professional indemnity caseload under supervision. This will include developing a knowledge of legal issues in respect of a variety of professions as well as building an understanding of each profession's own rules, procedures and regulatoryframework. You will conduct reviews of new cases, assess liability and quantum and establish strategy for the case, as well as draft correspondence to brokers/insureds requesting additional information as required. You will resolve claims through negotiationof settlement, rebuttal of claim and/or declining of cover and play a key role in developing and maintaining client relationships.
What you'll need to succeed
Our client are happy to consider LLB/LPC/BPTC graduates with strong academics, or an experienced paralegal with an insurance or commercial background, preferably within the field of professional indemnity. Most importantly, you will have an interest in theinsurance sector and particularly professional indemnity, and you will be client focused with an ability to build strong relationships with client and third party contacts at all levels.
