**OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB**:
To provide a professional and approachable central point of contact to students, staff, employers and other stakeholders.

To liaise with a network of employers to provide appropriate work placements and ensure that they conform to all College legal, health and safety and other statutory requirements including ESF eligibility.

The post requires the effective and efficient planning of a range of short courses to prepare students for the world of work and support business needs. The post holder will be required to invigilate some of these short courses.

This post is based at Bishop Burton College and includes activity that may overlap Riseholme College campus and the post-holder may be required to carry out duties at both campuses or in specific areas defined by European Social Fund Projects.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Work in partnership with employers and stakeholders to create and register work placement opportunities.
- Support students and staff to obtain work placements and gain additional skills via short courses.
- Ensure all Safeguarding, Health and Safety and ESF Eligibility checks are in place
- Work with external organisations and departments to set up and organise delivery schedules for short courses and issue relevant paperwork to students and employers.
- Use relevant computer systems to store, retrieve and manage client and student information.
- Keep accurate and accessible central records using a variety of formats.
- Liaise with academic departments to ensure that students are work ready and placed in the most suitable environment.
- To administrate the financial requirements of course payments and raising and tracking purchase orders and invoices for the department.
- Ensure all quality systems are in place and are adhered to including registration and certification with awarding bodies.
- To provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Perform other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility.
- Take part in all staff College events such as Lambing Sunday and Open Farm Sunday.

**Essential criteria -**

Evidence of strong organisational skills working within a busy office environment.

General administrative skills and co-ordinating and monitoring activities.

Full, clean UK driving licence.

GCSE Maths & English Grade C or above.

A working knowledge of Microsoft office.

Safeguarding Current.

Health & Safety Legislation.

Excellent organisational skills.

Excellent administrative skills and able to keep accurate records both electronically and paper-based.

Excellent verbal, written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Able to work with key stakeholders both internally and externally.

Able to work to deadlines with a high level of attention to detail.

Ability to work calmly under pressure.

Motivation to work with young people.

Resilient and confident and ability to work under own initiative.

Commitment to developing new skills which improve the service.

Fit for the duties of the post.

DSB check carried out on appointment.

Flexibility in working practice.

**Desirable -**

Working with a diverse range of employers in an educational setting.

Customer service / business Administration qualification.

Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH or IOSH).

Knowledge of the local geographic area.
