JOB AD:
**Responsibilities**:
As a Research Engineer you would be expected to primarily:
continuously develop and improve compression algorithms and codebases (mainly written in C++)

contribute to the design of new tools and strategies for efficiently processing and compression of images, videos and data;
help preparing technical contributions to initiatives involving industry collaboration such as standardization organizations, workshops and similar;
design, implement and test developed algorithms, analyse data and prepare reports

Qualifications:
You will have:

- a good degree in either Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline;
- proficiency in C++ and Python, and preferably also in other programming languages;
- ability to grasp an exciting new concept with genuine interest, and driving execution through self-motivation;
- ability to generate, use and analyse data in the process of designing algorithms, and provide reports and recommendations based on data analyses;
- experience in researching and developing data compression and signal processing algorithms (e.g., video, image, etc.), gained through university research and/or industry roles;
- ability to work in teams and/or in agile cross-functional environments;
Preferably you will also have:

- understanding of existing coding standards such as AVC, HEVC, VVC, VP9, AV1 or equivalent;
- proven record in delivering complex projects and tasks on time;
- experience of pair programming with other programmers and/or QA resources;
