Kitchen Helper

Our busy Bistro is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to assist our team with the preparation of food and dishes. You will be responsible for cleaning, washing, controlling inventory, organising the stockroom and fridges, and emptying rubbish bins. The ideal individual for the Kitchen Assistant role will have the ability to stand for long shifts, work as part of a team, and precisely follow health and hygiene practises. You will need excellent communication skills, a passion for exceeding customer expectations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of the chef
- Preparing ingredients, including washing and chopping
- Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Help with inventory management and restocking supplies
- Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
- Washing utensils, pots, pans, and chopping boards
- Sweeping, mopping, and emptying rubbish bins
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is required
- Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and use of kitchen equipment
- Sound knowledge of food safety regulations
- Physically fit and able to stand for entire shifts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract
Part-time hours: 16-30 per week

**Salary**: From £10.50 per hour
