**The Role**

The purpose of this post is to be an effective member of the Radiography team, providing a high standard of radiographic service to Radiologists and patients. Supervision of junior staff and students, while supporting the mammography and one stop breast services at St Albans.

The Radiology Department at St Albans City Hospital is also well equipped. In addition to three general X-ray rooms, there are four ultrasound rooms, a digital GE Senographe Mammography machine and a Faxitron.

**The Responsibilities**
- To undertake imaging examinations within the X-ray Department to the standard required by the Department of Radiology.
- To support the Mammography service in St Albans City Hospital. Deputising for the lead mammographer in their absence.
- To assist the Lead Radiographers in the day to day running of the X-ray Department, maintaining the high standards at all times.
- To deputise for the Superintendent / Lead Radiographers in their absence.
- To carry out monitoring procedures on equipment in the X-ray/mammographer Department, reporting any faults to the Superintendent Radiographer/Radiology Services Manager.

BSc(Hons) Radiography or equivalent

Current HPC registration

Post graduate training and work experience in Mammography
