**Commercial Accountant**

MacGregor Black is currently partnering with an established **FMCG Manufacturing Business**, on the search for **Commercial Accountant**. This is a permanent role based in **Glasgow.**

As the **Commercial Accountant**, you will support the factory production team with insightful reports, analysis and challenge when required. The role requires an individual with great attention to detail and pro-active approach that will keepdrilling until we fully understand business performance. Although the role is termed Commercial accountant, no official qualification is required, and consideration will be given to financial and commercially minded applicants.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Oversee and Analyse the production of daily yield reporting with associated commentary to the site management team, including the development of existing reports to drive improvements in performance.
- Working closely with Commercial team on the product analysis to ensure profitability is being achieved.
- Providing a financial input for new and existing product tenders.
- Establishing standard costings of products with regular reviews.
- Management of the local Finance team (4 directs)
- Work with Factory management and Stock Controller to improve stock control and movements
- Monitor and report on carcass balance, ensuring any shortfalls from expected levels are identified and rectified asap.
- Stock management to ensure stocks rotated properly minimising wastage. Highlighting excess to Commercial in order to drive sales
- Production of the weekly site margin reports to tight deadlines, including customer/product profitability analysis and additional commentary
- Bring forward suggestions to improve reporting, data capture of stock control. Ensuring these initiatives are taken to conclusion and implementation
- Provide holiday cover for the Stock Controller and Management Accountant when required.
- Ad hoc duties as requested

**What are we looking for?**
- Financial knowledge to manage the weekly margin and finance team
- Operational Experience in FMCG environment highly desirable
- Commercially astute and able to add value especially with Std Costing and Tenders
- Being a self-starter who will drive things through to conclusion
- Highly proficient in use of Microsoft excel and other office packages
- Strong communication and influencing skills
