Stock Controller

We are currently seeking a Stock controller to join an extremely reputable, family-run SME based in Coulsdon. As a Stock Controller you will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and efficient movement of goods within the warehouse, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring smooth operations. Within this role you will be collaborating with both internal colleagues and our head office as well as suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and customers.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Oversee all aspects of stock control operations, ensuring accurate and efficient handlings of goods.
- Working alongside 2/3 other members of staff - Giving day to day instructions
- Monitor inventory levels, regularly conducting stock counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Implement and maintain effective inventory management systems and procedures to optimise stock levels, minimise waste, and reduce carrying costs.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure inventory accuracy and report any discrepancies or issues.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure proper storage, organisation, and labelling of stock.
- Monitor stock movement and identify potential stock shortages or excesses.
- Analyse data and generate reports on stock levels, inventory turnover, and other relevant metrics.
- Implement quality control measures to maintain the integrity of stock and minimise losses.
- Identify and resolve any operational issues or bottlenecks that may impact stock control.
- Train and supervise junior stock control staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in stock control.
