We are currently looking for talented and motivated Engineers & Principal Engineers to join our Civil Structures team in Leeds, Edinburgh & Glasgow for Bridges/Water/Rail/Infrastructure.
What does the role involve?
Working within our Civils Structures team on bridges and other highways structures or Water/Rail/Infrastructure, you will act as Design Engineer to undertake and check the delivery of design solutions and associated outputs and coordinate with other disciplines.
You will be involved in projects from conception to completion including; supporting the Project Manager to clarify the project brief, agree deliverables, key milestones, project methodology, quality assurance and control strategy; establishing project checkingand approval arrangements and managing internal project start-up meetings; undertaking significant elements of the detailed design and the checking of outputs as directed: e.g. calculations, drawings, sketches, reports etc to achieve the optimum solution forthe project; assessing, documenting and communicating design changes to the Project Manager; being aware of work requirements and taking personal responsibility in delivering this to agreed time, cost and quality requirements; reviewing projects on completionand recommending/implementing improvements to technical policy, processes and design solutions as appropriate.
To be successful in this role you'll possess:
*Relevant post qualification structures design experience and a strong successful record of project delivery in structures design including bridges and other highway structures or Water/Rail/Infrastructure.
*Experience in structural modelling software such as Autodesk Bridge Design and Lusas or similar structural packages
*Experience of designing to Eurocodes using different materials including RC concrete, steel, timber, etc.
*Some experience of providing project governance on projects.
*Working towards Chartered Membership of a relevant Professional Institution.
