**Hours: 37 hours per week**

**Salary: £25,565 - £27,747 pro-rata**

Responsibilities include:

- Being a Learning Coach - providing learners with support; guiding students to help them understand their learning styles; utilising coaching processes to enable students to learn more effectively.
- Providing support for literacy, numeracy, digital skills, ESOL and academic writing at all levels from pre-entry to HE and professional; guidance on UCAS statement writing; delivering study skills sessions (e.g. academic writing, presentation skills; time management, plagiarism and referencing).
- Using appropriate support methods in a range of contexts, including
- in-class, appointments and drop-in sessions
- one-to-one, small group and whole class
- face-to-face and online;
- Liaising with teaching staff to maximize students’ development, identify underlying reasons why support is needed and implementing a variety of techniques such as referral, setting targets and building learners’ motivation and confidence.
- Assisting teaching staff in the utilisation of the Wales Essential Skills Toolkit (WEST) to ensure the completion of initial assessments and progression of learners’ skills.
- Recording support accurately in digital formats, tracking learners’ progression, developing and updating online resources.
