**Hours**: 37.5 hours Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm

Our client, a specialist domestic abuse charity is looking to recruit a Family Drug & Alcohol Domestic Abuse Specialist. Working within the Community Domestic Violence and Abuse Support Service that supports victims of domestic violence and abuse in Sandwell, Dudley, Wolverhampton and Walsall through a range of contracted/commissioning arrangements

**Synopsis of duties**:

- The Family Drug & Alcohol Domestic Abuse Specialist is a part of the Community Services Directorate and the domestic abuse services team. You will have access to a team of community IDVA’s (Independent Domestic Abuse Advisors) and DAA (Domestic Abuse Advocates) to liaise with.
- Working alongside adult workers from mental health, drug & alcohol and social workers services. Working closely with each service to lead on cases where domestic abuse is the primary factor and consulting on cases where domestic abuse is not the primary factor
- The emphasis is on working with families to provide a bespoke problem-solving approach to promote parental/family recovery and ultimately safeguarding children and young people.

**Essential Requirements**
- Educated to minimum Level 3 or equivalent, with a good level of experience in Health and social care.
- GCSEs English and Mathematics - Grade C or above
- Commitment to providing services within an anti-discriminatory/equal opportunities framework to meet individual needs
- Experience of working with adults, acknowledging safeguarding concerns and responding appropriately.
- Experience of working with and supporting vulnerable people.
- Experience of handling a caseload.
- Experience of working with clients with complex needs, such as mental health and substance misuse.
- Experiencing of working within a supportive setting for vulnerable people, providing direct support and a needs led service, undertaking risk and needs assessments and support planning, using a variety of intervention tools.
- Experience of working/liaising within a multi-agency setting with a range of stakeholders and representing clients/organization an external meetings.
