**Job Title: Payroll Administrator**

**Reports to: Payroll Manager**

**Department: Finance**

**Location: Caledonia Depot, Glasgow**

**Basic Purpose of Role**
- To process all staff data changes and payment inputs to the payroll system to ensure weekly and monthly payrolls are run accurately and on time.

**Main Duties**
- Administration of the payroll system implementing necessary changes regarding personnel contractual and legislative information including:

- Processing all documentation relating to new starters and leavers including issuing of P45 certificates and other associated tax forms
- Managing sickness absence records and processing relevant contractual sickness payments in line with the terms and conditions relating to individual payroll. Application of SSP where applicable
- Managing other statutory payments according to regulations - SMP,SPP ShPP etc.
- Managing employee pay changes in relation to pay progression agreements and other changes as advised by HR or Operation teams
- Management of period end processes including:

- Running test payroll
- Checking payroll output and manging control processes
- Dedicating payroll and processing payroll final run
- Printing and sending employee payslips
- Accurately process documentation relating to BACS payments, sending through for payment to the Finance Team
- Management of all period end reporting responsibilities to internal teams and external bodies
- Preparation of statutory information for readiness of reporting by Payroll Supervisor or Payroll Manager
- Manage payroll queries relating to remuneration and other ad hoc data requests from employees
- Maintain local knowledge in respect of each payroll and update when necessary processing documentation
- Liaise with HR and Operation Teams
- Undertake any additional duties at the request of your line manager which are deemed to be within your competency

**Special Working Conditions**
- Flexible working hours will be required occasionally
