**Who we are.**

PA Media is the UK’s national news agency, supplying 24/7 journalism to every newsroom in the country. It sits at the heart of the PA Media Group which is now a portfolio of diversified news and information companies encompassing a large data division, the picture agency Alamy and the streaming service Stream AMG, among others.

**The Role.**

**What you’ll be doing.**
- Working on live editing and transmission of sports, news and entertainment events that are carried out remotely or on site.
- Producing accurate captioning and making daily postings of images on Social Media including PA’s Instagram and Twitter
- Monitoring stories to ensure all relevant stories are illustrated and ensuring the latest pictures page is current.
- Create and manage picture collections ahead of major anniversaries, deaths, state occasions and birthdays.

**What you’ll need.**
- Excellent written English - a large part of what the role entails involves writing captions. Attention to detail and good grammar are essential.
- Strong knowledge around news, sport and showbiz.
- A strong interest in photography.
- A clear understanding of the Editors’ Code of Conduct.
- Demonstrable experience of using Photo Mechanic.
- Demonstrable experience of using Adobe Photoshop.
- An awareness of the diverse needs of the PA’s customers

Based in our London or Nottingham office, you would be expected to work evening / weekends in line with various events and to handle news and sports content during any down time, especially when the celeb calendar goes quiet during the height of the summer and around Christmas and the New Year.
