As the Independent Fostering Agency expands, this is an exciting opportunity to join the team for a part time, permanent Fostering Recruitment Officer role (3 days a week).

£24,102 to £27,992 pro rata per annum salary

**Please note that the applicant should have a Social Worker Qualification.**

About the role

Achieving for Children has an exciting opportunity within it’s expanding Independent Fostering Agency, the role is across Achieving for Children fostering services, it will include but not be limited to engaging the community to promote fostering, completing initial enquiries and home visits for prospective foster carers, supporting training and development of prospective and approved carers and promoting the retention of carers through organising events and supporting open dialogue. The role is part time - 3 days a week however we are looking for someone who is flexible and has the ability to change working days or hours based on the needs of the service. The role will also oversee the fostering marketing support officer.

Achieving for Children work within the framework of signs of safety and we place a strong emphasis on signs of success, as well as peer group supervision sessions. We currently have significant growth in the fostering service and this expansion is part reason for the current availability of roles, with the potential opportunity of extension should we continue on this path of growth.

About you

**Qualifications**
- Educated to a degree level with a relevant professional qualification in social work (CSS/CQSW or DipSw, MA SW, BA Hons SW)
- Active HCPC registration and proven evidence of continuing professional development

**Skills and experience**
- Experience of building strong partnerships, maintaining relationships and working with a range of professionals, especially foster carers.
- Proven ability to effectively use data, intelligence and evidence to create meaningful insight and to inform own decision making.
- Knowledge of statutory legislation (for example fostering regulations) and national policy drivers that will affect children’s services and your role.
- Strong analytical, and planning skills for assessing, and reviewing children and young people’s needs, and planning packages of care across a range of cases, able to explain professional reasoning judgements, and decision making (ideally experience using ideally Form F assessments.
- Experienced in managing an allocated caseload, planning and organising workload to meet statutory timescales and local policy.
- Experienced in providing direct professional social work to children and their families, undertaking regular visits to client’s homes and care establishments.
- Good understanding of the challenges faced by Foster carers and the complexities of fostering assessments, including private fostering.
- Experienced in the use of ICT including MS Word, Google, Outlook and case record management systems.
- Preferably experience in working within the signs of safety framework and peer supervision practice.
- Good understanding of the challenges faced by foster carers, and the complexities of all aspects of fostering assessments.
- Experience in presenting to fostering panels, and completing annual review reports
- Desired experience is supervisory roles
