**Job Description**:
**What you’ll do**
- Manage key purchasing and material planning responsibilities for multiple sites.
- Understand demand for materials that are generated within IFS. Analyse how current demands differ from historical usage and seek to validate and query where required.
- Develop and implement processes to establish routine calculation of safety stock policies which will be maintained in IFS.
- Conversion of system generated purchase requisitions into a Planned status - To confirm the need to place firm purchase orders with suppliers.
- Generate and analyse part availability exception messages and ensure issues are understood, resolved, or mitigated and risks communicated.
- Collaborate closely with outsourced procurement function to understand changes to delivery dates that impact on plan. Ensure that availability risks are communicated and need for expediting is understood.
- To be responsible for setting up and maintaining accurate system data relevant to the role.
- Document key Material Planning processes and ensure periodic review to maintain validity.
- Support Global procurement with margin improvement initiatives.
- Seek to understand and optimise cost, through demand analysis and adoption of appropriate of purchase quantities, assessing the optimal purchase quantities and inventory locations to support business needs. Ensuring that total global requirements are considered.
- Complete requirements for processing of invoices.
- Tracking of supplier performance through KPI’s.
- Review and mitigate risks to supply for goods and services.
- Periodically review pricing structures with critical suppliers.
- Review inventory overstock with other sites to allocate stock effectively.
- Collaborate with product managers on product changes.
- Support process documentation and process improvements.
- Completing supplier validation through the i2B system.
- Complete supplier returns.
- Part creation within IFS.
**Qualifications**:
**Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications**
- Experience of utilising leading ERP software (IFS/SAP etc)
- IFS Experience - Highly desirable but not essential. Training will be provided.
- 3-5 years experience of material planning and/or purchasing
- Demonstrated appreciation of MRP and Master Data.
- Experience of contributing to S&OP/SIOP/IBP processes, through professional generation of slide decks.
- Able to identify improvement initiatives.
- Strong computer skills required including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Previous experience of working in a manufacturing business in a Material planning role
- Experience of contributing to S&OP/SIOP/IBP processes, through professional generation of slide decks
- Able to identify improvement initiatives.
- Understanding of Product structures and Production routings - Desirable but not essential
- Experience working in a global manufacturing or biotech organisation.
- Strong computer skills required including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
